Today Hawaiian Airlines announced a new expansion to it Hawaii Asia service with new service to Osaka Japan from Honolulu.

Hawaiian Air's president and CEO has been quoted saying that the new Haneda service has been even better then the expectations from when the route was launched, and that Hawaiian looks forward to offering authentic Hawaii travel experience.

Pending approval from the Japan government Hawaiian would launch the route on July 12th with a 14:10 departure from Honolulu and arrive at Kansai International airport on July 13th at 18:00. The return flight would depart Kansai at 21:30 and land in Honolulu 10:50 AM on the same day. The reason for the landing of the same day is Osaka is 19 hours ahead of Honolulu and crosses the international date line.

The service is expected to be operated daily, the route will be served by the 767-300 until Hawaiian receives a few more A330's and will upgrade after that. Hawaiian is expected to take delivery of two more A330's this year, one in Quarter 2 and another in Quarter 4. Hawaiian is slated to take delivery of 3 in 2012.

It is expected that the new route will add approximately 100,000 new seats between Asia and Hawaii.
